Arc Suppression Technologies has created products and patents that solve electrical problems that have existed since electricity was commercialized by Edison, Tesla, and Westinghouse in the 1870’s. Problems that cost $tens-of-billions annually from electrical contact failures, arc-faults, and arc-flash. Today, our products are solving these problems, offering game-changing competitive advantages across a wide variety of markets.

Why Us?  Why Now?

Amongst engineers and product designers, electrical arcing has not been fully understood, and has historically lacked even consistent terminology to describe the phenomena. Overall, arcing has been accepted as unavoidable, with most efforts focused on mitigation and preemptive actions to limit or slow arc damage.

Another factor is that the components and approach for electronic power contact arc suppression did not exist until the growth of semiconductor technology in the 1950’s onward.

Ultimately, it took our technology’s inventor, Reinhold Henke, to be sufficiently frustrated by contact arcing to find a solution. Reinhold is a prolific inventor, with more than 80 granted patents that include multiple “world’s first” inventions. Given the time to ponder the topic, and the freedom to think it through without constraint (two luxuries unavailable to those in industry or even most academics), Reinhold created the new industry of electronic power contact arc suppression.
